Committees

Media Committee

The Media Committee’s mission is to maintain communication with the officers and committees to promote Master Gardener activities by publishing and communicating to the gardening public and membership fun, educational, and interesting plant and gardening information, as well as inform the public of our outreach programs, including educational and fund-raising events.

Refreshments Committee

Youth Education Committee

Encourage the youth of Hancock County to explore, value, and engage in home horticulture through science-based demonstrations, presentations, and active learning in order to enrich the community.

  1. Design and maintain the Junior Master Gardener plot at the Hancock County Fairgrounds.
  2. Start the Junior Master Gardener program in Hancock County.
  3. Integrate the Junior Master Gardener program into public/private/home schools.
  4. Provide 4-H youth and leaders with knowledge and skills needed to meet 4-H Community Service goals through horticulture.

HCMGA Annual Plant Sale

Sales of plants donated by members, education of attendees through displays/manuals, and questions answered through Hancock County Master Gardeners.

New Castle Seed Library

Help teach at the Henry County Public Library. Henry County does not currently have a Master Gardener Program.
